Cross Country Releases 2026 Schedule

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison Head Cross Country Coach Rebekah Ricksecker announced the team's 2026 schedule on Monday morning, highlighted by the JMU Invitational on Friday, Sept. 25.

For the sixth season in a row, the Dukes open the fall at Richmond's Spider Alumni Open, where they'll race at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va. on Sept. 5. After nearly three weeks off, James Madison will head up I-81 to host the JMU Invitational on Friday, Sept. 25, at the New Market Battlefield in New Market, Va.

The Dukes begin October in Boone, N.C. for App State's Firetower Project Run (Oct. 2), before heading to Long Island to compete at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships (Oct. 17) for the first time since 2022.

JMU is set to take on the rest of the league at the Sun Belt Championships in Foley, Ala. on Oct. 30. The conference's 5K title race will once again take place at the Graham Creek Nature Preserve.

After a tune-up at Virginia Tech's Hokie Open (Nov. 6), the Dukes trek to the Roger Milliken Center for the NCAA Southeast Regional on Nov. 13, hosted by USC Upstate.

Indiana State will host the 2026 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Nov. 21 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind.Â
