The faculty to student ratio is 16:1 with an average class size of 26 students. Just recently the Wall Street Journal and Times Higher Education confirmed that JMU students were more likely to recommend their school more than students of any other school in the country. In 2017, US News and World Report rated JMU as the #2 public school in the South.

JMU Track and Field is a NCAA Division I school that competes in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). Our team has boasted numerous CAA champions and NCAA All- American athletes and we want to continue to receive national recognition and reach new heights with our track and field program. We are seeking talented, coachable, motivated and dedicated student athletes to help achieve this continued success. We have outstanding facilities and a committed coaching staff and support staff. If you feel you can train and compete at the Division I level and with the pride and integrity of a Duke, please fill out our online questionnaire so we can learn more about you.
