- JMU's Friday starter, Hoover led the Dukes in wins (6) and innings pitched (82.1)
- Recorded a 5.25 ERA, the best of any starter, and a 6-4 record
- Pitched at least five innings in 13 of his 14 starts
- Threw over 100 pitches on four different occasions
- Pitched five scoreless innings, striking out five batters and allowing only three hits in a 9-3 win at the College of Charleston [4/22]
- Recorded a season-high seven strikeouts in six and two thirds innings in a 7-5 win over St. Bonaventure [3/18]
- Allowed just one run in six innings of work in a 9-3 win over Bucknell in the season opener [2/19]

- Threw eight innings, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out five batters in a close 1-0 loss at Northeastern [4/10]
- In a hefty outing, Hoover threw 140 pitches in a 9-3 complete game win over Towson [4/24], striking out seven batters and allowing just two earned runs

- Tied for 3rd in CAA in complete games (2)
- In league play only, tied for 1st in starts (7), tied for 2nd in complete games (1), and 8th in innings pitched (41.0)

- In season debut after 2013 wiped out by injury, worked three scoreless innings of relief with three strikeouts in season opener at East Carolina

- Tossed seven innings with one run allowed upon his exit before two runners left on bases also scored in start against Northeastern

- Pitched four shutout innings of relief in middle game of Hofstra series for his first win

As a freshman:

- 2-for-3 with a run scored at the plate in GSU finale
- Hit an RBI double in only plate appearance at Virginia
- Turned in consecutive strong relief outings with two scoreless innings in NU finale followed by 2 2/3 scoreless the next game at Liberty. Also added an RBI single and a walk in the same NU game
- Went 2-for-3 at the plate with a two-run double in ODU finale
- Doubled, hit by a pitch three times and drove in career-high three runs in win over Hofstra

- Concorde District Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-District as a senior along with First Team All-Region and honorable mention to the Washington Post All-Met Team
- Represented West squad in 7-5 loss to East during Virginia High School Coaches Association All-Star Game July 13, 2011 at Christopher Newport University
- As a senior, went 5-3 on the mound with a 1.94 ERA over 10 starts. Struck out 61 while walking just 15 over 54 innings with two shutouts
- For his career, went 19-6 with one save and a 1.49 ERA in 154 2/3 innings while striking out 144 and walking 33 in 36 appearances with 25 starts
- Also hit .438 as a senior with 16 RBIs and 32 hits, including four doubles and four home runs
- Bulldogs went 17-5 and won the Concorde District championship in 2010
- First Team All-District and Second Team All-Region as a junior in 2010 while hitting .350 with 10 doubles and 15 RBIs as well as going 6-3 on the mound with a 2.10 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 46 innings
- Was also First Team All-District and Second Team All-Region as a sophomore when he set a school record with a 0.90 ERA in 46 2/3 innings
- Tossed a perfect game in the 2009 Concorde District playoffs as Westfield went 21-2 and won the Concorde District
- Named to Hanahan Invitational All-Tournament Team as a sophomore and the Orlando National Baseball Classic All-Tournament Team as a freshman
- Four-year baseball letterwinner
- Also played for head coach Carson Carroll and the Northern Virginia Travel Baseball League (NVTBL) Stars
- NVTBL Stars were champions of the 2010 Mid-Atlantic Mid-Summer Classic and 2010 DI Draftable 18U Tournament while also placing in the top 16 at the 2010 World Wooden Bat 18U National Championship
- NVTBL Fall Prospect Stars were champions of the 2010 Fall Wood Bat Tournament
- Also played basketball ninth and 10th grades
