Katie Hamlin was hired by James Madison University Athletics in July 2023 as an Athletics Communications Assistant, and is the secondary contact for football and primary contact for lacrosse and cheerleading.

Before coming to JMU, Katie worked as a Game Day Communications/Public Relations Intern with the Buffalo Sabres (NHL) and Buffalo Bandits (NLL) for the 2022-23 season. During her time with the Buffalo Bandits, they won the 2023 National Lacrosse League Championship. She assisted with credential distribution and greeting media, press box set-up and operation, distributed period stats/game notes, recorded home and visitor player audio, and recorded post-game coach press conferences.

Katie graduated from the University of Central Florida in May 2021 with a B.A. in Human Communications and a minor in dance. She is a native of Buffalo, New York.
