Tyler Henderson is in his first season with the James Madison football program in 2026, as he serves as Director College Scouting.
Henderson additionally acts as the program’s pro scout liaison, coordinating JMU’s annual Pro Day.
Henderson joined the Dukes after two seasons as cornerbacks coach at Fordham (2024-25). The Rams ranked 10th nationally in 2025 in defensive touchdowns and were second in the Patriot League in both first down defense and redzone defense in 2024. He coaches a pair of players to All-Patriot League status in Nahil Perkins and Alex Kemper.
Prior to Fordham, Henderson served on Billy Napier’s staff at Florida (2022-23) as a defensive graduate assistant/personnel assistant. In that role, he assisted the defensive back coach and defensive coordinator, coaching individual periods, providing signals in practice and on game day, as well as creating advanced scouting reports with the college personnel department.
During his stay in Gainesville, Henderson was part of Bill Walksh Minority Internship with the New York Giants in the summer of 2023.
Henderson has also had stints at Columbia as a cornerbacks coach (2021), Bowling Green as a defensive graduate assistant (2019-20), IMG Academy as passing game coordinator (2018-19), the NFL Pathway Operations at IMG (2018-19), the Atlanta Falcons as a defensive intern (2017) and the Dallas Cowboys (2015-16).
He graduated from Stephen F. Austin in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. Henderson also received a master’s degree in hospitality at Florida in 2023.
