Dominic Lombardi will enter his second year as an associate head coach at James Madison in 2025-26.
In his first season at JMU, he helped Mark Freeman and Bryce Lindsay take home major accolades from the Sun Belt Conference, as Freeman was named Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-Conference, while Lindsay captured the Freshman and Sixth Man of the Year honors. The Dukes finished with 20 wins and a share of the Sun Belt regular-season title after finishing 13-5 in league play.
Lombardi joined Head Coach Preston Spradlin in Harrisonburg after a successful seven years as an assistant under Spradlin at Morehead State, which saw the Eagles rise to national prominence. He helped lead MSU to four straight 20-win seasons, culminating in a program record 26 victories in 2023-24 and an appearance in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship.
In his seven years at Morehead, Lombardi has helped guide 10 players to all conference honors, including Freeman's OVC Player of the Year honor in 2022-23 and current Auburn standout Johni Broome taking home OVC Defensive Player of the Year accolades in 2021-22.
Prior to his time at Morehead State, Lombardi served as the Director of Player Development at Duquesne (2016-17) and two seasons as the video coordinator (2014-16) at South Florida. He also spent two seasons as an assistant video coordinator at Kentucky under Naismith Hall of Famer John Calipari, including an appearance in the national championship game in 2013-14.
Lombardi played three seasons of NCAA Division II basketball at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he spent his senior year as a student assistant coach under his father, head coach Joe Lombardi.
A native of Indiana, Pa., Lombardi graduated from IUP with a degree in marketing in 2012.
