Erik Skartvedt enters his first year as a graduate assistant coach after competing for three years at Vassar College in Poughkeesie, N.Y. At Vasser Skartvedt played No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles, compiling 42-24 singles record and a 30-14 record in doubles. He was the team captain for two years and was ranked 19th in the Northeast by the ITA. He was a three-time first-team All-Conference selection in singles and a three-time Liberty Leage All-Academic selection.

In addition to his playing career, Skartvedt spent three summers as an assistant tennis professional at the Brooklawn Country Club, instructing children and adults of varying levels. Last January, he traveled to Cameroon to volunteer for the president of the Oyebog Tennis Academy and helped to introduce tennis to over 1,000 children across the country.
