Highlights of Watson's Playing Career:
* Three-time NCAA participant (2007, 2008, 2009)
* All-Big South doubles team twice (2008, 2009)
* 72-32 singles record; 73-32 doubles record
Three-time NCAA participant Zack Watson joined the Dukes' coaching staff in August 2010.
The 2010 Radford graduate played in three NCAA Tournaments (2007, 2008, 2009) and was part of the first doubles team in Radford history to earn an at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament (2009, with partner Martin Sayer).
Watson was a four-year starter for the Highlanders where he earned All-Big South doubles accolades twice, in 2008 and 2009 and was the team's captain as a senior. He compiled a singles record of 72-32 and doubles record of 73-32 in his tenure at Radford.
As a freshman, he was one of two players in the Big South to go undefeated in conference play (9-0 record in 2007).
He earned a bachelor's degree in exercise sport and health education from Radford in 2010.
A native of nearby Timberville, Va., he was a four-time Virginia Independent Schools Player of the Year at Eastern Mennonite High School. He was the top-ranked player in Virginia in his age group from ages 12-18 and was ranked second in the Mid-Atlantic Region at age 18.
