Carolann Baldridge joined the JMU sports medicine staff in July 2015 as a full time assistant athletic trainer. Her primary responsibilities include the day-to-day care and prevention of athletic related injuries for the student-athletes on the JMU softball team. She is also a preceptor in the accredited undergraduate athletic training education program. Each semester she mentors two undergraduate students in this program.Â
In addition to her Athletic Training Certification, Baldridge is a licensed healthcare provider through the Virginia Board of Medicine as well as a certified first-aid & CPR/AED professional rescuer with the Red Cross. She has also done a lot of volunteer work as a first-responder with many sporting events and camps including the Kobe Basketball Academy (Santa Barbara, Calif.), USA Volleyball Olympic Trials (Long Beach, Calif.) and the Huntington Beach Marathon (Huntington Beach, Calif.).
Baldridge is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), the Mid Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association (MAATA), and the Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association (VATA). Recently, Carolann became a Graston Technique provider.

A 2011 graduate of California State University, Long Beach, Baldridge received her Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training. She received her Athletic Training Certification through the Board of Certification in February 2012. Prior to coming to JMU, she was a head athletic trainer at Robert A. Millikan High School in Long Beach, Calif.
Baldridge graduated from JMU with her Master of Science degree in adult education and human resource development in May 2015. During that time she was a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the volleyball team.
