Why did you choose JMU?
I chose JMU because I loved everything about the university! Its strong academics, nutrition program, and volleyball program strongly persuaded me during my college selection process.
What is your major?
Dietetics
What do you want to accomplish in the 2009 season?
I hope that our team competes at its highest potential each match because successes and victories will follow.
What is your favorite?
Book: My Sister’s Keeper
TV Show: all Bravo reality shows (ex. The Real Housewives, Top Chef, etc.) and Solitary on the Fox Reality Channel
Music: 80s rock, Elton John

I never really liked Halloween.

- 42 digs total for an average of 1.75 per set in her first collegiate season
- four matches with five or more digs
- collegiate debut against Hampton with 13 digs
- team-high seven digs and first career assist against Charlotte
- one ace, one assist, and six digs against Presbyterian
- team-high eight digs against Georgia Southern.
- Played for head coach Diane Lucas and the Hatboro-Horsham Hatters
- also played club volleyball for Josh Steinbach at the Philadelphia Volleyball Academy
- as a senior, was named All-Suburban One defensive specialist and a member of the District I All-Star Team while serving as team captain
- four-year member of both the volleyball and softball teams
- Hatters won Pennsylvania state AAAA championship in softball as a junior with Dougherty named Second Team All-State, First Team All Southeastern Pennsylvania, First Team All-Intelligencer, and First Team All-Suburban One as an outfielder
- as a sophomore, softball team reached state AAAA semifinals with Dougherty named Second Team All-Suburban One at catcher
- Hatters also state softball runner-up as a freshman in 2006
