Noreen Dougherty was hired as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in September 2021. She will serve as the primary contact for women's basketball, cross country and track & field.
Dougherty arrives in Harrisonburg after serving as the Strategic Communications Coordinator at Temple University from 2019 to 2021. She was the primary contact for women's basketball, men's and women's cross country and track & field while in Philadelphia. The Milford, Mass. native first experience came during her senior year at Roanoke College ('17), where she assisted with field hockey, soccer and volleyball. Upon graduation, she served as an athletic communications intern in the spring of 2018 at Endicott College, serving as the primary men's tennis contact.
Dougherty also worked as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications for Stevens Institute of Technology for the 2018-19 academic year. In her role at Stevens, she served as the primary communications contact for 10 varsity sports while also coordinating the video streams for the department's home athletic events.
Dougherty resides in Harrisonburg with her husband, Ray, and their daughter, Delaney.
