Alex Lovgren joined JMU as an assistant athletic trainer in October 2020, working with the lacrosse team. Alex received her bachelor's degree in athletic training from Ohio University in 2016, and her master's degree in exercise and sport science from the North Carolina in 2020. While at Chapel Hill, Lovgren had the opportunity to work with the track & field and field hockey programs, being a part of the 2018 and 2019 field hockey national championship teams. In between her time in undergrad and grad school, Lovgren spent two years working at the high school level via PT Clinic outreach programs in Western New York.
Originally from Rochester, N.Y., Lovgren now lives in Harrisonburg with Captain, her "work in progress" German Shepherd Husky puppy.
