Marisa Maleike serves an assistant athletic trainer for the lacrosse program and supervises the graduate assistant serving the cheer program. Maleike’s primary responsibility is to ensure the day-to-day healthcare of the women’s lacrosse student-athletes. She is also a clinical instructor for JMU’s CAATE-approved athletic training program and advises the Madison Athletic Training Student Association.
Before joining JMU, Maleike worked at the University of Tennessee as the graduate assistant athletic trainer for women’s volleyball.
Maleike graduated from Ohio State in 2012 with her Bachelor of Science in athletic training. She then continued her education at Tennessee, graduating in 2014 with her Master of Science in sport psychology and motor behavior. Additionally, Maleike has her Board of Certification national Athletic Training certificate, her Virginia Board of Medicine state licensure, is Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization certified and earned her Corrective Exercise Specialist certification.
She currently resides in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
