Lizzy Briones, a stand out middle blocker, returns as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2015 season. Briones played for the Dukes under Head Coah Lauren Steinbrecher from 2011-2014. In her four years she made her way to the top of the record boards in total blocks (495), black assists (434). She ranks ninth in all-time solo bocks (61) and second in block average with 1.13.
Offensively she currrently is tied for 10th in career hitting percetnagew with .271. Â
Briones was a two-time Alll-Colonial Athletic Association and Virginia Sports Information Directors First Team All-State selection. She joins the staff of Head Coach Lauren Steinbrecher, Associate Head Coach Casey Steinbrecher and Assistant Coach Wendel Camargo
