Alyssa Brandalik joins the JMU coaching staff as the student assistant coach after playing for Coach Malerba for two seasons. The senior is a sports management major and plans to receive her degree in the spring. She is also a tennis instructor at the Five Seasons Sports Club in Covington, Ky.

2008-09 as a sophomore:- 4-3 in tournament play during the fall season
- 1-0 in doubles play during the spring season
2007-08 as a freshman: - 6-12 in doubles play
- 3-3 in singles play during fall season
- Played No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles for JMU
High School:- Top 50 in USTA/ Florida and top 10 in North Carolina USTA
- Played USTA Fed Cup for USTA/Midwest
- All Conference as a freshman, sophomore and senior
- Team's MVP as a freshman, sophomore and senior
- Midland Daily News MVP as a senior
- Qualified individually for the state tournament as a sophomore
