Jacob Dobbs, who capped off his career as a standout linebacker at JMU, was hired as a quality control coach and assistant linebackers coach with the Dukes ahead of the 2025 season.

Fresh off an illustrious six-year playing career both at JMU (2024) and Holy Cross (2019-23), Dobbs is a former William V. Campbell Trophy finalist and a three-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-American.

Dobbs surpassed 500 career tackles, as he had 432 with Holy Cross and 74 in his final season with the Dukes.

He was a Second Team All-Sun Belt linebacker as a senior in 2024 and was named to the Butkus Award Watch List. While at Holy Cross, Dobbs was a two-time Stats Perform Buck Buchanan Award finalist and a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award. Dobbs was a two-time First Team All-American, in 2021 and 2023) and named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year twice.

Dobbs graduated from Holy Cross in December 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and religious studies.
