JMU LEADS AFTER TWO ROUNDS OF LADY DUKES GOLF INVITATIONAL

HARRISONBURG (4/9/05) – Host James Madison shot rounds of 304 and 301 Saturday to take a one-shot lead heading into Sunday's final 18 holes of the JMU Lady Dukes Invitational Golf Tournament.

JMU's two-round score of 605 is one shot better than second-place Princeton, which Saturday shot a 306-300--606 on the par-72, 6,046-yard Lakeview Golf Club course. Augusta State is third in the 16-team tournament at 312-301-613 and Methodist fourth at 302-318-620.

Senior Meg Davies (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring) leads JMU with 75-74--149 and is tied for third place overall.

The tournament's individual leader is Augusta State's Garrett Phillips with a 72-71--143. Princeton's Avery Kiser is second at 76-71--147, and Methodist's Katie Dick (74-75--149) and Charlotte Williams (75-74--149) are tied with Davies for third.

The tournament concludes with a single round Sunday, beginning at 8 a.m.
