DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. – Junior
Grace Petzold paced James Madison women's golf with a tie for 16th at the Daniel Island Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.
Petzold was one of three Dukes to finish inside the top 25, as
Bella Flores tied for 22nd and
Emerson Elm came in a tie for 25th in the 84-player field.
Petzold produced three solid rounds of 72-73-74 on the par-72, 6,166-yard Daniel Island Club for her fourth top-25 finish of the season. Flores accumulated a score of 221 (+5) across her three rounds, carding rounds of 74-74-73.
The Dukes tied for seventh out of 15 teams with a 54-hole tally of 889 (+25), producing rounds of 295-299-295.
Elm finished two strokes behind Flores at 223 (+7) with rounds of 74-74-75. Classmate Klára Sionkova tied for 44th at 227 (+11), and
Avery Robinson closed out the JMU contingent with a tie for 77th at 240 (+24)..
The Dukes will return to action March 16, at the Magnolia Collegiate in Mobile, Ala.
