GERLANDO PROMOTED TO DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS MARKETING

Alyssa Gerlando

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Oct. 11, 2006 – Alyssa Gerlando has been promoted to Director of Marketing for Athletics at James Madison University, effective immediately. She joined the JMU staff as assistant director of marketing for JMU athletics in December 2004.

“We are very excited to promote Alyssa to her new title,” said Brad Edmondson, assistant athletics director for marketing. “Her dedication to JMU and the sports she oversees made this a very easy decision for us. She is a valuable asset to JMU athletics.”

Prior to her arrival at JMU, Gerlando worked for two seasons in minor-league baseball with the Norwich (Connecticut) Navigators, the Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, as the marketing and media relations manager. She is a 2002 graduate of the University of Connecticut, where she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and sports communications.
