MORSINK NAMED MEN'S SOCCER NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The Dukes' midfielder netted the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Georgia State on Sept. 22, then scored another game-winner as JMU edged North Carolina Wilmington 1-0 on Sept. 24. Morsink has a goal or an assist in all eight JMU games this season and also scored a goal in the Dukes' last two games of 2005. That breaks the record of consecutive games scoring a point set by JMU assistant coach Patrick McSorley in 1995. He now has career totals of 30 goals, 29 assists and 89 points and has moved from eighth to seventh place on JMU's all-time points list. The Dukes improved to 7-1 with their fifth straight win, and JMU moved into Soccer America's Top 25 at number 22. | |||
