MEN'S SOCCER DROPS 2-1 OVERTIME DECISION AT DEFENDING CAA CHAMPION OLD DOMINION

HARRISONBURG, Va., Oct. 22, 2008 ? Ambane Emmanuel's goal midway through the second overtime lifted Old Dominion to a 2-1 victory over James Madison in Colonial Athletic Association men's soccer Wednesday evening.
The winning score came 5:01 into the second 10-minute sudden victory period. Emmanuel's goal was assisted by Steffen Rabben.
Defending CAA champion ODU improved to 7-5-2 overall and 4-2-1 in league play. JMU's record is now 6-6-2 overall and 3-4-0 in the CAA.
The two goals scored in regulation came in the final 10 minutes of play.
ODU struck first, as Trevor Banks scored off a pass from Rabben at the 81:02 mark.
Just under two minutes later, Dukes' senior Nick Zimmerman (Tampa Bay, Fla./Wharton) hit a 20-yard shot into the goal. The tying score, which came at 82:59, was the team-leading fifth of the season for Zimmerman..
ODU held a 16-14 advantage on shots. JMU redshirt freshman goalkeeper Justin Epperson (Herndon, Va./Oakton) made three saves, and ODU goalkeeper Brennan Kirkpatrick finished with five saves.
