#16 LACROSSE LOSES 16-12 TO #11 NOTRE DAME

ORLANDO, Fla., March 10, 2009 -- In a battle of top 20 teams, Notre Dame rallied from two goals down at halftime to post a 16-12 win over James Madison at Disney World of Sports.
Notre Dame entered the match ranked 11th in the IWLCA coaches poll. JMU was ranked tied for 16th in the IWLCA poll.
Notre Dame improved its record to 5-1 as the Fighting Irish won their fourth game in a row. JMU dropped to 3-1 with its first loss of the season.
JMU held a 5-2 lead with 18:24 to play in the first half and was up 9-7 at the halftime break.
However, Notre Dame scored the first four goals of the second half to push ahead to an 11-9 advantage with 26:13 remaining. After a JMU goal cut the margin to 11-10, the Fighting Irish scored three times in a span of under three minutes. That gave Notre Dame a 14-10 lead with 16:05 remaining.
JMU got no closer than three goals the rest of the way.
Dukes' sophomore Mary Kate Lomady (Abington, Pa./Abington) led her team in scoring with four goals. Freshman Casey Ancarrow (Jarrettsville, Md./John Carroll) and redshirt junior Kim Griffin (<>
