HARRISONBURG, Va., March 24, 2009 ? Freshman Paul DeVito silenced James Madison for the second time in five games as Radford picked up a 14-3 non-conference baseball win on Tuesday afternoon at Long Field/Mauck Stadium.

RU improved to 8-9 for the season and won its fourth straight game in the series. JMU fell to 14-10 after being swept in the season series. The Highlanders won 7-4 last Wednesday, March 18, at Radford.

DeVito faced the Dukes in consecutive starts, limiting JMU to three runs on nine hits with four strikeouts in seven innings. That followed an outing of 7 1/3 innings last Wednesday when he allowed two runs on seven hits in 7 1/3 innings.

Sophomore James Weiner (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's-Belfield) took the loss for the Dukes. He allowed four runs, one earned, on four hits. He was the first of six JMU pitchers in the game.

Offensively, the Highlanders pounded 19 hits, one more than the Dukes allowed all weekend in a three-game set with Northeastern. Second baseman Brett Mollenhauer, shortstop Jeff Kemp, and third baseman Nick Minter each had three hits. Mollenhauer scored four times. Minter drove in three and had two doubles. First baseman Alex Gregory was 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBIs, and three walks, two intentionally. Reggie Keen, Mario Duarte, and Will Naylor each had two hits.

Redshirt sophomore first baseman Trevor Knight (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's-Belfield) was 3-for-4 with an RBI for JMU. Junior second baseman Mike Fabiaschi (Torrington, Conn./Torrington) was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Junior center fielder Alex Foltz (Mathias, W.Va./East Hardy) hit a solo homer, his first of the season.
