MEN'S SOCCER LOSES SEASON-OPENER AT DUKE 2-0

DURHAM, N.C., Sept. 1, 2009 -- Duke junior midfielder Cole Grossman scored twice in the final 21 minutes to lead the Blue Devils to a 2-0 men's soccer win over James Madison Tuesday evening at Koskinen Stadium.
It was the season-opening match for both teams.
The game was scoreless until the 70th minute, when Grossman converted a penalty kick to give his team a 1-0 lead.
Grossman's second score came with 6:42 remaining and was assisted by sophomore Daniel Tweed-Kent.
Duke out-shot JMU 15-11 in the match.
Dukes' junior goalkeeper Ken Manahan (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor) finished with six saves. Blue Devils' junior goaltender Nick Tsipis made four saves to get the shutout.
