WILMINGTON, N.C., March 2, 2010 - The final round of the 2010 Seahawk Intercollegiate was canceled due to a winter storm moving through the area, leaving James Madison in tenth place out of 12 teams with all scores reverting to the second round results.
Sophomore Mike Smith (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Nease) and junior Michael Meisenzahl (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) each finished in the top 20. Smith carded a 75-72=147 to sit in 15th, while Meisenzahl is tied for 18th after shooting a 73-76=149.
Sophomores Chris Wellde (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and Chad Mozingo (Culpeper, Va./Culpeper County) finished tied for 49th and 52nd respectively, while sophomore Jack Bonifant (Silver Spring, Md./Sherwood) tied for 59th.
Augusta State placed three golfers in the top five and five in the top 18 to claim the team title. While East Carolina's Jake Colley tied with Augusta State's Patrick Reed for the individual crown.
The Dukes return to the course next week at the Palmas Del Mar Intercollegiate in Palmas Del Mar, Puerto Rico. The three-day event will tee off on Monday, March 8.
