Interact with the Dukes on their pre-game team walk.
The JMU Football team will be taking part in the Dog Walk before home games this season. Taking place every game-day Saturday and starting two and a half hours before kickoff, fans are encouraged to greet the team and show their support during this pregame walk. The Dog Walk will start in front of Showker Hall. Led by the Marching Royal Dukes Drumline and the JMU Cheerleaders, the team will head down Bluestone Drive before cutting across Godwin Field, through the University Outpost Fan Zone and ending with a short rally at the Clementine's Presents Sound Stage. Â Fans cheer on @JMUFootball as the team crosses Champions Drive before heading through Godwin Field. Head Coach Everett Withers and a senior player will address the crowd before the team heads into the stadium. "This is JMU's team and we want our players to see the support from JMU Nation before we head into the stadium to get ready for the game," commented Withers.
The Dog Walk will take place two and a half hours before the kickoff of every home game, as the team heads into the Athletic Performance Center to prepare for the game. The Dog Walk will serve as the start of the new and improved University Outpost Fan Zone. New additions to the Fan Zone include the Clementine's Presents Sound Stage featuring live music from the SteelDrivers as well as the Schewels TV Zone, and the MadiZONE Pregame Show.
Senior Dean Marlowe addresses the crowd on the Clementine's Presents Sound Stage. "JMU Game Day is a tradition that our fans cherish, but we want to continue to improve and make it the best experience the Valley has to offer," said Assistant AD for Ticketing and Customer Relations Michael Carpenter.
