Scouting Report
- JMU enters Wednesday with a 12-9 overall record and 5-3 mark in CAA play while Delaware comes to town 4-15 on the year and 3-5 in league play. The Dukes hold an 8-5 record on their home court this year while the Blue Hens are just 1-10 in true road games.
- This is the 23rd meeting ever between the two programs and Delaware holds a 14-8 record against JMU, which includes a 7-4 mark in games played in Harrisonburg. Until Matt Brady's hiring in 2008, JMU was just 3-10 against UD, but is 4-4 since.
- Last season, the Hens swept the season series and in the previous meeting, Delaware cruised to an 81-65 win back on Feb. 12, 2014, in Newark.
- In that game, Davon Usher scored a game-high 34 points as Delaware won its 13th straight game and program-record 10th straight win at home. Carl Baptiste also had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Yohanny Dalembert had the single-best game of his freshman season with his lone double-double of 15 points and a career-best 13 rebounds. UD jumped out to a big lead, taking a 20-point lead several times after shooting 54 percent in the first half. JMU never drew closer than 15 at any point down the stretch.
- Last time out for the Dukes, they rallied from a 14-point, second-half deficit in a 69-63 victory at Hofstra last Saturday. JMU held the league's most prolific offense to just 24 percent shooting in the second half and 18 points as it used a timely 14-0 run while holding HU scoreless for over seven minutes. Yohanny Dalembert converted an old-fashioned, 3-point play with 1:32 left and the Dukes' defense held the Pride 0-for-6 from range in the closing 90 seconds for the win.
- Ron Curry finished with a career-high 25 points after hitting three treys and knocking down 10 free throws. Jackson Kent also had 13 points in the triumph.
- On Monday, Ron Curry was named CAA co-Player of the Week after scoring 23.0 points per game, while adding 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals in JMU's northeast road trip. He shot 56 percent from the floor on 14-for-25 shooting and a stellar 8-for-11 from beyond the arc, which included a career-high five 3-pointers without a miss on Thursday at Northeastern.
- Comparing the two squads for Wednesday's matchup, JMU scores 65.1 points and allows 66.1 to its foes while Delaware averaged 64.5 points for and the league's-worst 74.1 points against. JMU shoots 44.3 percent from the floor while limiting opponents to 42.3 percent and UD shoots 39 percent while conceding a 43.3 percent shooting percentage.
- Players to watch in this game are JMU's Ron Curry and Delaware's Kyle Anderson.
- Curry leads JMU with 11.5 points per game, including 14.5 points per game during CAA play, and is the reigning CAA co-Player of the Week. He has made eight 3-pointers over the last two games, is shooting the CAA's fourth-best 3-point percentage at 43.8 percent and also ranks third on the total season with 4.1 assists per game.
- Anderson is averaging 15.5 points per game during league action after missing most of the non-conference season, playing in just four games. He also averages 2.6 treys per CAA contests, which ranks tied for third, while shooting better than 38 percent from 3-point land.
- Following this game, JMU stays home to host William and Mary on Saturday night at 4 p.m. in a televised game on Comcast SportsNet, The Comcast Network and SNY.
