RICHMOND, Va. – Sophomore
Gabrielle Weiss is the Colonial Athletic Association Golfer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday afternoon. This weekly honor is the first of her career and the first of the 2015-16 season for the James Madison women's golf program.
Weiss led the Dukes with a fourth-place individual finish and paced the team to a fourth place finish out of nine teams and 42 golfers at the weather-shortened Forest Oaks Classic in Greensboro, N.C. She shot a 2-over par 72, a career best for 18 holes. With the fourth-place finish, Weiss earned her first collegiate top-10 showing.
The Dukes carded a combined a 22-over par 302, earning their best placing of the season.
JMU travels to Piscataway, N.J., for the Rutgers Invitational October 16-17, a recent addition to the 2015-16 schedule due to the shortened Forest Oaks Classic.
