VILLANOVA, Pa. – The James Madison women's volleyball opened the Villanova Classic with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-15) win over Howard Friday night. JMU advanced to 6-2 on the season while Howard fell to 2-8.

Janey Goodman led the Dukes with a season-high 19 kills. Junior middle blocker
Hanna Radhi hit a team-best .500 (8-1-14) and tied her career high with eight kills and senior setter
Sarah Patterson dished out match-high 34 assist to pace the Dukes' offense.
Goodman was atop the leaderboards for JMU with a .485 hitting percentage (19-3-33) to lead the Dukes to a .322 hitting percentage as a team, as opposed to the Bison's .019, which saw them commit 26 attacking errors. Madison also controlled play at the net, outblocking Howard 9-4.
The Dukes return to action twice tomorrow, Sept. 12 when they face Siena at 11 a.m. and the host Villanova at 7:30 p.m.

Hanna Radhi tied her career-high kills total, with eight, matching her previous eight-kill performance back on Nov. 3, 2013, against Northeastern. She also led the Dukes in Friday's win with seven total blocks.
NoteworthyWith the win over Howard, the Dukes are now 3-0 in opening matches of tournament play this season.
Looking AheadThe Dukes return to action tomorrow Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. to take on Siena. The Saints are currently 2-4 heading into the Villanova Classic. JMU will close out the tournament facing host Villanova Sept. 12 at 7 p.m., as the Wildcats are 3-3 entering the weekend.
