HARRISONBURG, Va. – Snapping Delaware's five-match win streak, James Madison volleyball tallied its seven consecutive victory topping the Blue Hens in four sets (25-18, 25-13, 22-25, 25-22) Friday evening inside Sinclair Gym.
The Dukes improved to 18-10 overall with a 10-5 mark in Colonial Athletic Association play. JMU is now locked in a four-way tie for first place with Towson, Northeastern and Charleston with one match remaining in the regular season. Delaware fell to 13-15 overall and 7-8 in league action.
Four Dukes garnered double-digit kills led by senior right side hitter

Kate Whitmire each added 11, while freshman outside hitter
Briley Brind'Amour chipped in 10 kills on 16 swings for a team-best .562 hitting percentage.
Setters
Sarah Martin and
Tilbe Yaglioglu each recorded a double-double as Martin tallied 24 assists with 12 digs, and Yaglioglu racked up 22 helpers with 11 digs guiding the Dukes to a .271 hitting percentage. The Dukes were lethal at the backline with nine service aces. Sophomore middle blocker

Defensively, JMU garnered eight blocks as senior middle blocker
Kelly Robertson paced the Dukes at the net with five block assists. Junior libero
Taylor Austin posted 26 digs to average 6.50 per set.
The Blue Hens earned the first point and lead of the opening set with a service ace, but the Dukes answered with back-to-back kills from Goodman to gain a lead that JMU would never relinquish. The Dukes capitalized on Delaware errors to tally a 6-0 run to pull ahead 9-3. JMU continued to dominate defensively, holding the Blue Hens to a .030 hitting percentage in the set while Austin racked up 11 digs in the opening stanza alone as JMU picked up a 25-18 victory.
JMU continued to roll in the second set, attacking at an impressive .636 hitting percentage and committing only one error. The Dukes used a 4-0 run midway through the set to build its biggest lead, 12-6, before reeling off three consecutive points to cap the 25-13 victory to head into the break with a 2-0 lead.
Delaware tallied 10 of the first 15 points of the third set to take a commanding lead over the Dukes before Gail landed three straight aces as part of a 5-0 run by JMU to pull within one, 10-11. Powered by Autumn Jenkins' six kills, Delaware pulled away for a 25-22 victory to cut JMU's lead to 2-1.
With the fourth set knotted at 15-all, JMU used a Goodman kill, block from Brind'Amour and Gail and a service ace from Austin to pull ahead 18-15. Delaware closed the gap late fighting off four consecutive match points before Whitmire hammered home a kill the final point of the match to secure the Duke victory.

Janey Goodman inched closer to JMU Athletics hall of famer
Lindsay Collingwood's all-time single-season kills record. With 486 kills this season, Goodman moved into a tie for third place with
Allyson Halls and has tallied the most kills in a season by a Duke since 2007. The Powhatan, Va. native is now just 21 kills away from topping Collingwood's record of 506 set during the 1996 season.

With a win against Towson in the regular-season finale, James Madison will clinch at least a share of the 2016 CAA regular-season title and a potential first-round bye into the semifinals of the 2016 CAA Championship hosted by UNCW beginning on Friday, Nov. 18.
