SCOUTING THE TRIBE

William & Mary has dropped four of its last six contests, including last Saturday's defeat in Harrisonburg, to fall to 19-10 (11-7 CAA) on the season, a mark which earned the Tribe the fifth seed entering this weekend's CAA Men's Basketball Championship.
Despite a robust 12-3 mark at home, the Tribe is just 7-7 away from Kaplan Arena this season, though five of those wins came in conference play. Saturday's quarterfinals will mark W&M's first contest on a neutral floor this season.
Junior guard Omar Prewitt, a First Team All-CAA pick this season, continues to lead the Tribe on offense with 18.0 points per game, while junior guard Daniel Dixon adds an additional 13.1. Senior forward Terry Tarpey was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Year on Thursday and averages 11.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, while also leading W&M in steals and blocks.

SERIES HISTORY

Saturday's contest will mark the 92nd contest in the all-time series between the two teams, officially surpassing George Mason as JMU's longest men's basketball rivalry.
The two teams have identical 24-15 records on their respective home courts, but JMU holds a 10-3 advantage when the schools meet on a neutral floor. The Dukes have faced W&M four times in the last seven CAA Tournaments, with the two squads splitting those contests at two wins apiece.
The last time JMU met the Tribe at the CAA Championship came in the 2013 quarterfinals. The #3 Dukes battled back from a 56-49 deficit with 9:35 to play, getting 20 points each from then-seniors Devon Moore and A.J. Davis, to earn the 72-67 win, kickstarting JMU's run to the 2013 CAA title and NCAA appearance, its first since the 1993-94 campaign.

LAST TIME OUT

James Madison men's basketball dropped William & Mary 71-65 on Saturday, Feb. 27, in front of 3,646 fans at the JMU Convocation Center to secure the No. 4 seed in the 2016 Colonial Athletic Association Championship.
In his final regular-season contest at the Convo, senior guard Ron Curry paced the Dukes with a game-high 21 points, 16 of which came in the second half. The Pennsauken, N.J. native finished 6-of-12 from the floor and 6-of-8 from the free throw line, adding five assists over 30 minutes of play despite a trio of first-half fouls.
Senior guard Winston Grays III shined on his Senior Day as well, scoring eight points, all in the first half, and pulling down a career-high nine boards. Juniors Yohanny Dalembert and Jackson Kent added 18 and 10 points, respectively.
