HARRISONBURG, Va. - The James Madison will be hosting two youth baseball camps this summer at Eagle Field at Veterans Memorial Park.
Â
The entire JMU coaching staff, along with current and former JMU student-athletes, will lead both camps, which are scheduled for June 13-16 and July 11-14. The camps will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. The camps are open to children ages 7-12 or up to eighth grade.
Â
"We're excited to host these camps this summer," Head Coach
Marlin Ikenberry said. "These weeks will give us a chance to help young players improve their game and to connect with a community that has a real passion for baseball."
Â
Each camper will receive instruction in the basic fundamentals of hitting, fielding, throwing and base running. Attendees must bring their own bat, glove and helmet to the camps and baseball pants and cleats (no metal spikes) are preferred. Campers should also bring a pair of tennis shoes in case of inclement weather.
Â
Camps will be held at Eagle Field at Veterans Memorial Park on the campus of JMU. Check-in will be located at the main entrance to the stadium. In the case of inclement weather, activities will be moved indoors to Memorial Hall, which is located adjacent to the field.
Â
Costs per camper will be $150 or $250 to attend both weeks and registration can be found at MarlinIkenberryBaseballCamps.com. Please contact
