Dukes Fall at Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Hofstra scored a pair of goals in the second half on Sunday afternoon to seal a 3-0 defeat for the James Madison women's soccer team in Colonial Athletic Association action at HU Soccer Stadium. The Dukes fell to 7-8 (2-4 CAA) in the loss, while Hofstra improved to 10-3-2 (6-0 CAA) with its seventh straight win.

The Pride scored its first two goals on corner kicks, two of an NCAA-record 26 that Hofstra took on Sunday, before sealing the match in the 85th minute. Junior Hailey Stein tallied a pair of shots to lead the Dukes and freshman Sophie Brause tallied JMU's only shot on goal, but Hofstra owned a 28-10 shot advantage by match's end.

MATCH NOTES
- The Dukes tallied double-digit shots in a match for the 13th time in their 15 matches this season and have not had fewer than eight shots in any contest. Dating back to 2016, the Dukes have posted double-digit shots in 29 of their last 31 matches.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Miller racked up a career-high seven saves in the loss, while Hofstra's pair of goalkeepers needed just one save combined in the shutout.
