Dukes Land Three Top 50 Finishes At NCAA Southeast Regional

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va – Led by three top-50 finishers, the James Madison cross country team placed 12th out of 37 teams at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships on Friday.
RACE RECAP
The Dukes tallied 323 points with an average 6k time of 21:58. Senior Carol Strock paced the Dukes with a time of 21:31.9 which placed her 38th out of 257 runners. Sophomores Emily Murphy and Caitlin Swanson rounded out the top-three finishers for the Dukes with 42nd and 49th finishes, respectively. NC State won the Championships for its second consecutive year.

"This was a tough race, with all of the great teams competing. We did not follow the race plan as much as I would have liked to but now we have to get ready for the ECAC Championships next week and learn from this."
