BURLINGTON, Vt. – James Madison women's basketball used a 14-4 run in the third quarter to pull ahead of Vermont for good, winning 68-56 on the final day of the TD Bank Classic, hosted by the Catamounts.

Tied at 38-all, JMU (2-4) was sparked by back-to-back 3-pointers from senior Hailee Barron that pushed JMU ahead for good. Swarming defense and hot shooting throughout the second half kept the Dukes at least seven points ahead of the Catamounts for the rest of the game.

Barron was one of three Dukes to finish in double figures, posting a season-best 15 points in the victory. Redshirt sophomore Kelly Koshutaled the way with a career-high 26 points while sophomore Kamiah Smalls recorded the first double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
 CAREER NUMBERS Kelly Koshuta tallied the second 20-point scoring performance of her career on Saturday evening, sinking a career-best 26 points. She has scored in double figures four times through six games.
 STRONG NIGHT Kamiah Smalls notched the first double-double of the year with 19 points and 10 rebounds. She added a career-best six steals and tied a career-high five assists. Smalls has scored in double figures each of the first six games this season. For her efforts over the weekend, she was named to the TD Bank Classic All-Tournament Team.

Overall, there six tied scores and five lead changes over the course of the game. This included four tied scores and four lead changes in the first half. JMU led by as many at 3 while UVM led by as many as 7 before the break, and the Dukes would push their lead to

JMU capitalized on 32 Vermont turnovers for 27 points. The Dukes committed 14 turnovers, 11 of which came in the first half.

The Dukes tallied 14 assists on 27 made baskets, their highest total of the year.
