HARRISONBURG, Va. - James Madison never trailed and got points from all 11 players as the Dukes cruised to a 75-49 win over West Virginia Wesleyan in a men's basketball exhibition game at the JMU Convocation Center.
Freshmen
Matt Lewis (14 points) and
Darius Banks (12) led a balanced attack that saw JMU shoot 45.6 percent (31-of-68) from the field and hold WVWC to 35.1 percent (20-of-57). Freshman
Dwight Wilson racked up nine points and a game-high seven boards on the afternoon, while Lewis dished nine assists and Banks added six assists and four rebounds.
The Dukes closed their non-conference season with a 4-9 mark and open up Colonial Athletic Association play this coming weekend at home, as they welcome Northeastern (Dec. 30; 4 p.m.) and William & Mary (Jan. 2; 7 p.m.) to Harrisonburg.
