The Dukes will begin their conference schedule with a home bout against Northeastern on Saturday at 4 p.m.
On Wednesday, JMU defeated West Virginia Wesleyan 75-49 in an exhibition match at the Convocation Center.
Freshmen Matt Lewis (14 points) and Darius Banks (12) led a balanced attack that saw JMU shoot 45.6 percent (31-of-68) from the field and hold WVWC to 35.1 percent (20-of-57).
This is the 24th matchup in the all-time series between the Dukes and Huskies, with Northeastern holding the series lead, 16-7.
In the last matchup, the Dukes defeated the Huskies, 73-69 in Harrisonburg on Feb. 4, 2017.
Northeastern is 7-5 on the season after falling to St. Bonaventure, 84-65 in Olean, N.Y on Dec. 20.
Against St. Bonaventure, junior Anthony Green finished with a career-high tying 15 points, eight rebounds and a block. Redshirt junior Vasa Pusica added 13 points, including a 9-for-9 performance from the charity stripe, and four assists.
