MACON, Ga. - The James Madison women's golf team closed out the fall portion of its 2018-19 season in strong fashion on Tuesday, taking home sixth place at the Idle Hour Collegiate, hosted by Mercer at the par-72, 6,083-yard Idle Hour Golf & Country Club.

Despite difficult final-day pin positions, the Dukes matched their score from yesterday's second round, posting a final-round 306 (+18) to take home sixth among the 13-team field, just one stroke behind fifth-place Georgia Southern.

Junior
Morgan Cox continued to perform well on the week, finishing tied for 12th among 74 players after birdieing her final hole to post a 76 (+4) in her final round. Her spot on the leaderboard marked the highest finish of her career, topping a t-19th at the Bill Berg Invitational early in her freshman season.

Freshman
Carly Lyvers also remained inside the top 20 to close the event, posting her own 76 (+4) to take home a tie for 16th, while senior
Jordan McKelvin matched the 76 to climb into a tie for 35th as she closed out her first tournament in more than two years.

Lauren Comegys closed out the JMU scoring with a 6-over 78 on the day, good enough to put her in a tie for 27th, while freshman
Kate Owens finished tied for 63rd after a final-day 83.

Playing as an individual, junior
Joanna Keck carded her lowest round of the week, playing her final 10 holes in 1-under par to close with her own round of 76 (+4) and climb into a tie for 35th.
