HARRISONBURG, Va. – Sophomore guard
Lexie Barrier poured in a career-high 27 points and James Madison withstood ETSU's fourth-quarter push to open the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) with a 60-52 victory Thursday night at the JMU Convocation Center.

JMU improved to 22-10 overall and will host Radford in the second round of the WNIT on Saturday night at 7 p.m. ETSU ended its season at 20-13.

Barrier's 27 points were the most this season by a JMU player. Her night included 11 points in the fourth quarter and nine in the opening period. Redshirt-sophomore center
Kayla Cooper-Williams added nine points, 10 rebounds and three blocks.

JMU will host Radford in the WNIT for the second straight year as the Highlanders defeated Penn State on the road by a 63-62 score in overtime. The Dukes won last year's matchup 80-59 in the opening round of the WNIT. Priority deadline for season ticket holders to reserve their same seats is 5 p.m. Friday.
