Kamiah Smalls was named First Team All-CAA, sophomore guard
Lexie Barrier earned a spot on the Second Team and sophomore forward
Kelly Koshuta was tabbed to the Third Team.

It is the second straight year Smalls and Barrier were honored by the CAA, as each were members of the 2016-17 All-Rookie Team. For Koshuta, it was her first All-CAA honor.

Smalls, last year's CAA Rookie of the Year, led the Dukes and ranked third in the league with 15.6 points per game during the regular season. She also averaged 6.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals per outing. Aside from scoring, Smalls also ranked in the top 15 in the CAA in five categories, including 10th in free throw percentage (.700), 11th in three pointers (1.5), 12th in assists, 13th in steals and 15th in rebounding.

She tallied double-figure scoring in all but one game and surpassed 20 points in four games, including a season-best 23 against Bryant. Smalls notched two double-doubles, as she collected 10 rebounds against both Vermont and Liberty.

Barrier was the team's third-leading scorer and ranked 20th in the CAA with 11.3 points per game, while averaging 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steal per contest. Her assist total ranked third for the Dukes and 14th in the league. Barrier tallied 19 double-figure scoring games, which included a season-high 23 in the opener against Rutgers. She also had one double-double.

Koshuta, JMU's second-leading scorer, was 11th in the CAA with 11.9 points per contest, to go with 4.3 rebounds per game. She was seventh in the league in shooting percentage (.483) and 13th in free-throw percentage (.692). In her first season at JMU, Koshuta tallied 19 games in double figures and one double-double. She turned in a season-best 26 points at Vermont, which was one of her three games over 20 points.

The Dukes (20-9, 16-2 CAA), who won a share of the CAA regular-season championship, enters this week's CAA Women's Basketball Championship in Philadelphia as the No. 2 seed. JMU opens play in the quarterfinals at against the winner of No. 7 Hofstra and No. 10 College of Charleston on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Drexel's Daskalakis Athletic Center.
