NEWARK, Del. – Freshman
Nick Stewart threw six innings with nine strikeouts, leading James Madison to a 6-0 win over Delaware in Colonial Athletic Association baseball action at Bob Hannah Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Dukes (21-19, 6-9 CAA) shut out their first opponent of the season and their first opponent since the feat occurred on April 26, 2017 against Longwood when JMU won 16-0.

Stewart only allowed two hits in 22 batters faced, improving to 3-3 on the season. Freshman
Nick Robertson came in and shut the door, garnering his third save after a tossing three innings with three strikeouts.

At the plate, freshman
Michael Morgan went 3-for-4, his third three-hit performance. Senior
Adam Sisk turned in a 2-for-5 outing with a double and two RBIs. Seniors
Zach Tondi and
Bradley McKay also tallied two hits in the contest.

Tondi drove in the first run in the third inning, then sophomore
Fox Semones drove home sophomore
DaVonn Griffin in the fifth inning to give the Dukes a 2-0 lead.

In the eighth inning McKay singled to right field, scoring Morgan and an error on the play allowed freshman
Josh Jones to score as well. Sisk hit a two-RBI double in the same inning, leading to the final score, 6-0.

James Madison will prepare for a two-game midweek, as it hosts Norfolk State on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Eagle Field before travelling to College Park, Md., for a Wednesday contest at 4 p.m., against Maryland.
