Tamera Young

Young was the first Duke in program history to be drafted into the WNBA, going eighth overall (first round) in 2008 to the Atlanta Dream. She averaged 7.3 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game in her rookie season and was then traded to Atlanta for one season before spending the next seven seasons with Chicago. She then returned to Atlanta for the 2017 season. This season she is playing for the Las Vegas Aces in their inaugural season. In the Aces first game, she led the team with 23 points while she also scored the first points for Las Vegas. Over her 10- year career in the WNBA, Young is averaging 7.1 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game and 1.3 assists per game. She has played in all three Aces games this season and is third on the team in scoring with 16 points per game. Young and the Aces play next on Thursday, May 31 against the Seattle Storm at 10 p.m. EST.Â

Jazmon Gwathmey

Gwathmey became the third Duke in JMU history to be drafted into the WNBA when she was selected 14
thoverall by the Minnesota Lynx in 2016. Her rights were traded to the San Antonio Stars, where she played her rookie season, averaging 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds over 16 minutes per game. She was then traded to the Indiana Fever and came off the bench in 22 games averaging 6.2 points per game. She also led the Fever with 22 blocked shots in 2017. Gwathmey posted a season-high 16 points at Atlanta along with a season-high seven rebounds that game, which she then matched at New York. This season with the Fever, Gwathmey has played in all five games while starting three. She is averaging 2.2 points per game, 1.0 rebounds and assists per game along with 0.4 blocks per game. Gwathmey and the Fever can be seen playing next on Saturday, June 2 against the New York Liberty at 7 p.m. EST. Â
