RALEIGH, N.C. – Will Wilson's two-RBI single in the bottom of the eighth propelled #4 NC State over James Madison, 6-4, in non-conference baseball action at Doak Field at Dail Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Dukes (21-24) came from behind to tie the game in the second and eventually take the lead in the fifth, but the Wolfpack (35-12) scored two runs in the fifth and eighth innings to outlast JMU.

Sophomore Fox Semones tallied a hit in the contest with a run scored and two walks. Freshman Michael Bechtold started on the mound for the Dukes and tossed 4 1/3 innings, giving up four runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.

Trailing 2-1 in the fifth senior Adam Sisk notched his lone hit, a two-RBI double to left center field which gave the Dukes a 3-2 lead. Senior Ryan Coale drove in another run in the fifth with a ground ball to second that scored freshman Josh Jones.

NC State's Brett Kinneman tied the game at four apiece in the fifth with a two-run home run to right-center field. In the eighth inning NC State scored the final two runs off a single up the middle, handing freshman Grayson Jones (0-1) his first loss of the season on the mound.

QUOTING COACH IKE
"I was proud of the way we played defense today. I thought we fought hard but didn't have that last push to give us a solid lead and hold off NC State. There are a few things offensively that we need to change for tomorrow but I was happy of the energy that the guys brought tonight."
