JMU Edges Richmond

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison field hockey edged in-state rival Richmond 4-3 on Friday night at the JMU Field Hockey Complex. The Dukes scored three goals in the second half to overcome a 2-1 halftime deficit.

James Madison (3-5) outshot the Spiders (3-8) in the first half 9-6 but got past the Richmond goalie three times in the closing half as Emily Braunwell ended the second half with no saves. Caitlin Nelson made nine saves with seven coming in the second half to keep the Dukes ahead 4-3.
