BETHLEHEM, PA – James Madison cross country competed at the 45th running of the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh on Saturday morning. The team finished 35
th as a team in the Gold Race, while Yale won the race with 118 points.

RACE RECAP
- JMU faced two nationally ranked teams in the Gold Race (Georgia & Utah State)
- The Dukes faced 22 regionally ranked teams in the Gold Race; out of 41 total teams
- Madelynn Knight recorded a personal best 6K time of 22:52 in the race
- Only two other CAA schools competed in the Gold Race; William & Mary (25th) and College of Charleston (40th)
- Katie Fox and Anna Marcucci competed in their first collegiate 6K race in the Paul Short Open Race with 376 runners
- Both came in under 25 minutes to set their collegiate personal bests in the 6K
- Sophie Bollinger, Sinead Sargeant, Lanie Jo Knight, Averi Witt and Grace Edison all competed in their first 6K for JMU in the Gold Race to set personal best times

Coach Rinker: "While our finish wasn't what we wanted, we did some good things. We are really young and we were missing a few people. We have been practicing at a much higher level and we'll come around when it counts."
