James Madison welcomes UNCW for its first Colonial Athletic Association contest in the Convocation Center of the 2018-19 season on Thursday, Jan. 3. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
The Dukes fell short at Elon last Sunday, dropping a 68-65 decision at the Schar Center. Sophomore Dwight Wilson led the Dukes' offense with a double-double, scoring a game-high 22 points while grabbing 10 boards. Sophomore Matt Lewis and redshirt senior Stuckey Mosley scored in double figures, adding 16 and 10 points, respectively.
Lewis has had double-digit performances in 11 of 15 games while Mosley has drained at least one three-pointer in each game so far this season.
UNCW leads the all-time series, 40-34, but the programs split games last season. JMU last faced UNCW on February 13 in the Convocation Center and came out on top, 62-61.
The Seahawks lost their first CAA matchup to the College of Charleston last Saturday, falling 73-66 at home. Senior Devonate Cacok took charge of the Seahawks offensive efforts, shooting 12-16 from the floor to tally 27 points while racking up 19 rebounds, 16 of which were on the defensive end.
Cacok leads his team and the league in rebounding, averaging 11.1 per game. He also leads the Seahawks' scoring, tallying 14.6 points per contest while redshirt junior Jeantal Cylla follows with 13.1.
