EARLYSVILLE, Va. – James Madison cross country finished 20
th at the NCAA Southeast Regional on Friday morning. The Dukes had their best finish since 2017.
RACE NOTES
- JMU competed against three teams that are ranked in the USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll; No. 5 NC State, No. 14 Furman and No. 23 Virginia Tech
- With JMU's 20th place finish they defeated 14 other teams at the regional
- Laura Webb pushed by 21 people from the 2K to the 5K mark and continued to hold strong at the finish.
- Caitlin Swanson also flew by 34 people between the 2K and 5K mark in the race.
- Brooke Manion went out and was sitting in 171st place after the 2K, she then went by 44 people to get to 127th place at the 5K mark. At the end she was able to go by nine people to finish in 118th.

The Dukes will head to the Bronx, N.Y. and take on the ECAC Championship on Saturday, November 23 at Van Cortlandt Park. The 5K is set to begin at 10 a.m.
