BRONX, N.Y. - James Madison cross country ended the 2019 season on a high-note finishing 4
th as a team at the ECAC Cross Country Championship at Van Cortlandt Park.
MEET NOTES
- JMU's fourth-place finish is the best since winning the ECAC Championship in 2017.
- The fourth-place finish is the 17th top-5 finish as a team since 1982.
- Laura Webb and Sinead Sargeant both ran in their first collegiate 5K
- Providence won the meet with 39 points, while Marist (69) and Siena (92) rounded out the top-three
- The fourth-place finish was out of 18 teams
- Five Dukes earned All-ECAC honors, which is given to any runner who finishes in the top-40
- Laura Webb, Megan Keady, Maddy Hesler, Caitlin Swanson and Kaya Connelly all earned All-ECAC honors

"The top 3 freshmen ran really well and everyone else raced hard. But sickness and a long season caught up a couple of them. We were 4th which is a big jump from last year, so we are coming along nicely."

The cross country season is now complete, but the Dukes will get to set to take on the indoor track & field season in 48 days at the Marshall Women's Only Meet on January 11.
