MT. PLEASANT, S.C. - The James Madison women's golf team took home its second trophy in as many events on Tuesday afternoon, capturing the team title on the final day of the Oyster Shuck Match Play, hosted by The Citadel at the par-72, 6,393-yard Patriots Point Golf Club.
The Dukes captured the title, their second in a row after winning the Ball State Sunshine Invite earlier this month, with a 3-2 victory over Gardner-Webb in Tuesday's championship match. The victory gave JMU five wins in six individual matches across the two events.
Senior
Jordan McKelvin and freshman
Carly Lyvers were each named to the All-Tournament team after they picked up wins on Tuesday to close out 3-0 weekends in Mt. Pleasant. McKelvin posted a 3&2 win against her opponent, while Lyver rolled to a massive 9&8 victory, the best performance of any JMU player on the weekend.
Freshman
Kate Owens provided the Dukes' crucial third win, bouncing back from a loss on Monday afternoon to roll to a 6&5 victory. Junior
Lauren Comegys dropped a tough 18-hole decision on Tuesday, despite finishing with a 2-1 mark on the weekend, while senior
Katie Turk fell in a 4&3 match to close her week.

The Dukes will be back in action in a week, as the head to Boulder Creek Golf Club outside Las Vegas, Nev. to take part in the Battle at Boulder Creek on March 4-5.
