BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The James Madison women's golf team posted its lowest score of the week on Tuesday afternoon, taking home fourth place at the Battle at Boulder Creek, hosted at the par-72, 6,252-yard Boulder Creek Golf Club.
The Dukes bounced back in Tuesday's round, cutting 13 strokes off their second round to card a 298 (+10), tied for the fourth-lowest round in the field on the week, maintaining their hold on fourth place at the seven-team event and closing to within six strokes of third-place Wofford.
Junior
Lauren Comegys and freshman
Kate Owens led the way on the final day of competition, each posting rounds of 1-over 73 on the day. Comegys recorded her third top 10 of the season, jumping into a tie for eighth (+12) in the 41-player field, while Owens moved up eight spots, the biggest climb in the field, to finish tied for 11th (+14).
Freshman
Carly Lyvers joined Owens in 11th, posting a final-day 3-over 75, while seniors
Katie Turk and
Jordan McKelvin each tied for 19th (+19) after third rounds of 77 (+5) and 78 (+6), respectively.
Playing as an individual, junior
Morgan Cox took home 24th on the week with a final score of 239 (78-78-83).
